The Time Will Come #7

Jodie over at Books for Company is hosting a Thursday meme.  It's really easy to join in.  Here's what you have to do:
  • Pick a book from your bookshelf that you've had for a while and really can't wait to read, but haven't managed to get to yet.
  • Put the details on your blog and head back over to Jodie's blog to fill in the Mr Linky.
  • Go and visit some other bloggers who are joining in.
So come on, what are you waiting for?

SPEAK by laurie Halse Anderson

This sounds like it's going to be deep and thought provoking.  I've had it on my shelf for a while now and I have no idea why I haven't read it yet.  It's not as if it's even a long book!

I read this book a long long time ago when I was just 13. I recently bought a new copy so I could re-read it and I'm very excited to read it again as an adult to see if any of my thoughts have changed. This is an excellent book and I hope you can get round to it soon :)

It probably won't take you very long to read it, and Speak is amazing. I read it almost ten years ago now and it still blows me away.

I've also never seen that particular cover for it. How interesting!

Speak is one of my favorite realistic fiction books of YA literature. Melinda's story is amazing and definitely brings back memories of junior high and high school, some pleasant and others not so much. I think once you start reading it, you'll finish it quickly. :) It has a powerful message for being such a short novel, and I hope you enjoy it.

I've heard lots of good things about this one, and I haven't read it either. Hope you enjoy it when you get around to reading it! :)

I have yet to read this one either and it's been on my list for a long time. I know I'll have to be in the right mood for this one since it will no doubt be powerful and intense, so maybe that's why I haven't picked it up yet. Must fix that!

I read Speak about a year ago and while it was really good, it wasn't quite what I expected for some reason. I hope you enjoy it when you get around to it, Speak really is a very good read :)

I got Speak from the library a while ago, but never got around to reading it. I wish I had, though!

This is not the cover I'm used to. I had to look it up on amazon to see if it was the book I was thinking of. I've not read it either, but really want to. I like this author. I've read Twisted and Wintergirls and enjoyed both a lot.

Oh you should really put this one closer to the top of your reading pile, really! Really powerful, emotional and important book!

Oh wow!
This seems like it will be a great read but also quite a tough one.
